You were one of them.

After years of experimentation, your body was permanently changed. You lost your legs and tail, but your arms became incredibly powerful, allowing you to climb, swing, and move through the jungle in ways you never could before.

Then Helix was abandoned.

The scientists disappeared, the facility was left behind, and their failed experiments were released into the rainforest.
